The following information was provided by the Medford Township Police Department.

On Sept. 16 Medford Township Police were dispatched to Taunton Forge Liquors located at 200 Tuckerton Road, The Village of Taunton Forge shopping center, for a report of a past tense shoplifting. Upon arrival patrols spoke to the on duty manager who explained a male subject had shoplifted. The manager confirmed that the man had previously trespassed at the store and was back in the store earlier that day. The manager stated he observed him take two) unopened 16 oz. beer cans from a refrigerated display case without paying for them. The manager confronted him at his vehicle in the parking lot and was able to retrieve the shoplifted cans of beer. Police reviewed the video surveillance. Patrols observed the suspect take items from a refrigerated display case and conceal them in his pockets. The man then was observed exiting the store without paying for them. Patrols later located him in front of his residence and placed him under arrest for the shoplifting and several outstanding traffic warrants totaling $2,000 bail. The suspect was transported to police headquarters, processed, charged with shoplifting and later lodged in Burlington County Jail in default of bail pending a future Municipal Court appearance.

On Sept. 18 at 8:13 p.m., Medford Police were called to Shop-Rite located at 208 Route 70 for a report of a shoplifter who was already in the custody of Shop-Rite loss prevention personnel. Investigation revealed that a female concealed $42.25 in assorted groceries to cookies, chicken nuggets and short ribs in her handbag while attempting to leave the store. She was placed under arrest, charged with shoplifting and released on a summons complaint pending an appearance in Medford Township Municipal Court.
