Congressman Tom MacArthur honored WWII veterans of South Jersey at a ceremony with family and friends in Medford on Friday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. MacArthur introduced local Medford WWII veteran and fighter pilot Col. James Roughgarden and Holocaust survivor and Army Major Ernest Kaufman of Lumberton.

“The veterans who fought for our country in World War II risked their lives so that we could live free,” said Congressman MacArthur. “Today I had the honor of recognizing the service of South Jersey’s WWII veterans in a ceremony with family and friends. Their service and triumphs are worthy of our admiration and gratitude. They fought evil — brute force, bad faith, injustice and oppression. Decades later, we still marvel at how they saved the world and honored our nation.”
