Venture to Brazil and Take in the Wildlife, from Medford

Did you catch Brazil fever during the Olympics, and wish you could travel there yourself? On Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m., learn about and see more of the beautiful country from Joanna Patterson, an award-winning photographer who has travelled to and photographed all seven continents. During a visit to Medford Leas, located at 1 Medford Leas Way, she will be showing a slide presentation, specifically focusing on the Brazilian Pantanal, the largest wetlands eco-system in the world.

The abundance and variety of wildlife in the Pantanal still is in a relatively natural state due to the low human population. At the top of the list of wildlife attractions is the jaguar, the third largest cat on the planet. Besides being home to many species of mammals and reptiles, the Pantanal also is host to up to 1,000 species of birds. This program is being offered at no cost; registration is not required.
