Local Church to Present Janet Devlin Benefit Concert

Saint Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church and School, located at 40 Jackson Road in Medford, will be presenting a benefit concert at the church staring Janet Devlin on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3:00 p.m. Janet arrived on the entertainment scene on the “X-Factor” in London where she impressed the judges and the audience with her unique voice and engaging stage presence.

After the competition, she turned down three recording contracts to venture on her own independent career through crowd funding. Now, five years and three albums later, Janet is an accomplished and refreshing vocalist and composer on the entertainment scene. This is truly a rare opportunity to see her perform live locally.

Refreshments and a “meet-and-greet” event at the adjacent Emmaus Center where attendees will have an opportunity to speak with Janet in person, take photos and get autographs upon the end of the concert.

Tickets are available by calling (609) 654–9657 or they can be purchased at the door. Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for seniors and $15 for students. Children under five are admitted free. Police, fire, emergency services and active military personnel will be admitted at no cost.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Phyliss C. Badame Scholarship Fund for the Arts and the parish youth group (Youth Energized in the Spirit — Y.E.S) in their annual participation in Habitat for Humanity. The church and parking is access friendly and accommodations for the physically challenged have been made. All are welcome.

Please don’t miss this unique opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of fine music while helping needy and talented students pursue the arts, and help challenged families’ find affordable housing.

Plentiful examples of Miss Devlin’s talent are found on YouTube at this Internet address: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMcoRakUgX4&list=RDDMcoRakUgX4#t=55.
